The Yard Editor lets you add completely new elements to the yard or place elements that are already defined in the berths.txt file on the map.
The Berths.txt file uses a one-dimensional (1D) coordinate system whereas the Yard Editor uses a two-dimensional coordinate system. When converting the 1D data to 2D data, the information contained in 1D is not sufficient to locate the Berths. Therefore, the Yard Editor locates a new berth on the X axis, ignoring the Berth Facing direction. However, you can relocate the berth with the desired orientation by using the Existing option.
To add or place elements on the map:
Use one of the following tools:
to add a stack block
to add a non-stack block
to add a track plan
to add a berth
On the map, do one of the following:
For a stack block: Click the anchor point for the lower left corner of the block.
For a non-stack block or track plan: Click the map for the first anchor point; drag the pointer in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction and click each anchor point of the block or track plan; double-click to finalize the outline. To prevent an error when assigning a rail transfer point in N4 Mobile, the track plan and the rail track should have the same origin side. For example, if the track plan is drawn in a clockwise direction, the rail track should also be drawn in a clockwise direction.
For a berth: Click the map and, without releasing the mouse button, drag the pointer up and left or down and right to create the berth outline; release the mouse button to finalize the outline.
In the Add form:
Click New if you want to add a new element to the yard. Depending on the tool you selected, one of the following forms opens:
Stack Block form (on page 1)
Non-Stack Block form
Track Plan form (on page 1)
Berth form (on page 1)
Click Existing if you want to place an item already defined in the yard file on the map. The Place <Element> form (on page 1) opens.
